Working scientifically - child led investigations

The children in reception understand the conditions that a seed needs to grow. They decided to plant some of their seeds from their snack- time fruit in the sand tray and add water! Over time, germination has taken place and the seed has begun to sprout! They now realise that sand can sometimes be used in place of soil.

What other ideas will they test?!

We made links to the photographs we have displayed in our outdoor art gallery of the different stages of growth.
Such complex learning concepts all explored in our own learning time! Oh the power of play! 🌱

SEND coffee morning
We look forward to welcoming parents and carers to our SEND coffee morning tomorrow at 9:30. Hot drinks and a sweet treat will be available. Unfortunately, we have been told that SCOPE can no longer attend, but we still have the lovely support team from MINDMATE joining us.
